About Blake

Blake Munch, Artist

Hello World. My name is Blake. And I’m an artist.

I was born in New York in 1996 and grew up with a steady diet of Pollock, Picasso, Basquiat, Mozart, Beethoven, The Doors, Hendrix, The Beatles.

My bedroom was adjacent to my father’s art studio - so my early days were spent creating in his studio with music blasting.

As a child my father gave me art books so images were my world and fascination. Colors were my dreamworld. Matisse’s Goldfish were my fish.

We moved to Florida when I was young and it was adventurous. I kept up with my vision in art. In a middle school group art show, a person asked my teacher if she could purchase my work. We sold it - my first sale. Soon after, at the age of 10, I had my first solo art show at a coffee house on Davis Islands - and we sold all 12 pieces for $175 per piece.

I went on to college where I studied art and won a scholarship. My days were spent either in the school studio or my apartment studio. These endless nights of working helped hone my skills. Working 24 hours straight was not uncommon. It was fuel for my imagination.

Since then I have been fortunate to have patrons and many collectors who believe in my work.

I feel blessed at 26.

My goal is to beautify the world and leave a mark like Vincent, Basquiat, Monet, Bosch, Kahlo, Pollock, deKooning, Bacon and all my mental mentors.

Much luv
